The announcement was made today by Miguel A. Insignares, the writer and
artist of the project. Mr. Insignares said, “I am honored to have such an
incredible roster of talent which have agreed to lend their likeness to this
project and I am thrilled at the potential of THE RUFNEX brand across various
entertainment media.”
Miguel A. Insignares’ previous artistic credits include working with such iconic comic book characters as: CAPTAIN AMERICA, IRON MAN,
THE AVENGERS, and GI JOE among others. He was also the designer and
artist on collectible products for properties such as FIRST BLOOD,
RAMBO, and ROCKY BALBOA. In addition, Mr. Insignares
penciled, colored, and lettered the official comic book adaptation for ZACK
SNYDER's DAWN OF THE DEAD.
Synopsis: Michael Williams, a former bounty hunter, now convicted
felon, agrees to lead a group of merciless prisoners (THE RUFNEX) on a
near-suicide mission in exchange for their freedom. Things soon take a horrific
turn as they discover the desolate island they landed on is crawling with
ravenous zombies eager to feast on their flesh. When the carnage begins, it's DEAD MEN WALKING versus THE WALKING DEAD and the
group must put aside their differences if they are to survive THE ISLAND OF THE DEAD.
